Previous studies on the topic of MMA have revealed the common risks for participating in MMA. It has been suggested that athletes and coaches, as well as MMA organizations need to do a better job of improving the safety of the sport. These promotions are being advised by researchers to look into ways to make the sport safer while also aiding in the research processes. As athletes are constantly putting their bodies through physical harm, the research suggests that improvements and changes need to be made.
