The Apprenticeship Programs at SUNY include:

  • The SUNY Apprenticeship Program (SAP), funded through appropriations in the New York State budget beginning in the 2016/17 Fiscal Year.
  • The NY College Apprenticeship Network (NYCAN), paid for by a $7.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, administered by The Research Foundation for the State University of New York.

This funding allows us to support employers with Registered Apprenticeship programs, as well as assist current and future Registered Apprentices. Funds can be accessed by SUNY colleges to grow apprenticeship programs in their region.
