This curriculum project includes a series of five lessons designed to incorporate mathematical discourse that can be taught prior to introducing coordinate proofs. The lessons includes concepts from New York State’s Algebra I and Geometry. The topics covered include parallel and perpendicular lines, midpoint and distance, partitioning lines, and finding areas of polygons. All lessons included in the curriculum are aligned with the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards for Geometry.
