dc.description.abstractThis curriculum project focuses on the 8th Grade Mathematics unit: Transformations. The project was developed as a resource for teachers transitioning to the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The unit plan is aligned to the New York State Common Core State Standards (NYSCCSS) and the New York State Standards for Mathematical Practices. The unit plan addresses all mathematical practice standards with emphasis on (2) Reason abstractly and quantitatively and (5) use appropriate tools strategically. The lessons in this unit plan, should be used as guide and alternate resource to support teachers who work in states where CCSS has been adopted.
