This research study is a secondary analysis of preexisting attendance data. The study was conducted at an urban high school in Upstate New York to determine if delaying the school start time by one half hour has an impact on student attendance. The data was collected by the school and anonymously given to the researcher. The average daily attendance results, in percentage form, were split by grade level and broken up by month. This research is important because delaying the school start time may lead to an increase in student attendance, and may also be more reflective of a start time students would see in college or in a career.Collections
