dc.description.abstractMost teachers in the United States are going through a paradigm shift. Teachers have to switch from using the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards or State Standards to the Common Core State Standards. With this shift in standards, teachers are now creating new curriculum that follow the CCSS. This thesis provides a unit on function that is aligned with CCSS. This unit has an emphasis on mathematical literacy to help students have a deeper understanding of the concepts they are learning.
