This five week study looks at the effects of using reader’s theatre scripts while teaching a science unit. The study was looking at the impact of including reader’s theatre on five fifth grade students’ fluency, comprehension, and content knowledge. Fluency, comprehension, and assessment scores were analyzed along with observations made by the researcher. Following five weeks of using reader’s theatre in science the students demonstrated increased rates of fluency, improved content related scores on assessments, as well as showing gains in comprehension scores.
