dc.description.abstractTeachers need to continue teaching Poetry in high school and not omit it from the curriculum because of the Common Core. This project is a comprehensive Poetry Unit that meets the objectives of several state standards; including the new Common Core standards. It includes worksheets, poems, rubrics, and project ideas. Also, it provides research detailing why teachers are not as willing to teach poetry anymore and how students feel about learning poetry.
