dc.description.abstractThe article discusses the need of utilizing student choice in literacy materials within the classroom, especially with emerging male students. It states the gender gap that is seen between male and female students, and how important it is to attempt to close that gap. The author explores the role that student choice has on increasing student engagement, and levels of interest.
