This article outlines the benefits of structuring curriculum around thematic questions. Themes are created from universally recognized lessons of humanity. Offering students the chance to interact with content in a way that relates to their identity allows them to connect with their content in a more authentic way. This, in turn, creates space in the classroom for students to introduce their own texts and writing styles as a means enhancing their learning experience.
