This curriculum project focuses modeling activities for eighth grade students to support the learning of functions. Built upon best practices in modeling, this curriculum challenges students to think about, and apply, mathematical concepts needed to model a viral TikTok video. Student’s interest in their video increases their motivation to learn functions. The curriculum is scaffolded to support understanding of difficult concepts for students with disabilities.
