The topic of this paper is the school to prison pipeline. It will describe what this concept is, the systems that uphold it, and opportunities to change it. In researching this topic, it was important to understand how mental health counselors can affect change and advocate against the school to prison pipeline.Mass incarceration of Black and Brown people in America has been ongoing unjustly for a significant amount of time. It is important that counselors use their power and privilege to speak on one of the systems that supports this, especially those who are more privileged than others.Accessibility Statement
