Marine cold air outbreaks occur when cold Arctic air meets warm ocean water, causing the ocean to release heat and moisture into the air. This can lead to the formation of clouds that produce heavy snowfall, especially near the coast. This poster compares the Tompson and P3 Microphysics schemes WRF simulations of the February 2nd-6th 2020 cold air outbreak, specifically focusing on February 3rd.Collections
