This thesis explores my relationship with clay, its evolution from craft to fine art, and my quest to push its endless possibilities of form and surface by employing meditative methods, along with EEG technology, to document mindfulness while making work. Certain Neuroscientific research will be explored to make the case that meditation can encourage creativity. The creative component of this thesis is the work I developed over a 30-day consecutive period while meditating and using EEG technology. The information gathered and work produced will hopefully serve as an inspiration to other artists who utilize and/or are interested in utilizing meditation and are looking for ways to expand their artistic practice.Collections
