The original production of The Laramie Project (2000) had a significant effect on how LGBTQ+ hate crimes are dealt with in the legal system following the AIDS epidemic (1981-1990). Following the AIDS crisis, the play "The Laramie Project" had a significant impact on public opinion, which in turn affected the legal system's response to LGBTQ+ hate crimes.Collections
