An in depth essay analyzing my artwork and putting it in conversation with philosophy, literature, and poetry. I discuss works by Martin Buber, Ernest Hemingway, and Mary Oliver and draw connections between these writings and my own prints and paintings. These bridges are built through an examination of my preferred subject matter, cats and their relationships to people. Through this lens, I am able to break apart ideas about subjecthood and identity.
