Nestled somewhere between Greer and Spartanburg, South Carolina is the semi-fictional, unincorporated community of Little Chicago. In the summer of 2023 and winter of 2024, I lived here, with my great aunt and second cousin, and explored this post-industrial rural landscape and the stories that inhabit it, with some of the people, dogs, bugs, parrots, and machines that have stories to tell. A roughly 5-hour video accompanies this writing.
