This project is about loss, love and being torn in two. It is a memorial of mourning for the forcibly disappeared and kidnapped in the world, a memorial for the agony of not knowing the fate of loved ones based on the personal story of my disappeared cousin who was 8 when she was kidnapped during the Lebanese civil war with 12 other members of my family from a village in Mount Lebanon. We used to play house and I used to trick her into lending me her red clog. We were born one week apart. I am now 48 and after all these years I still carry her inside me. This mostly sculptor work is dedicated to her.
