    Abstract
    Physical education teachers have similar yet different types of classroom management issues connecting to student behavior. Physical education teachers deal with the increased risk of child safety since the class is movement based while sometimes requiring equipment. What is similar is that undesired behaviors in any class take away from time on-task. Findings from previous research shows a positive correlation between the use of positive behavior interventions and supports in physical education in relation to on-task student behaviors. The purpose of this synthesis project is to review literature on the use of Positive Behavioral Supports on increasing on-task behavior in physical education.

      The Associations of Polygenic Scores for Risky Behaviors and Parenting Behaviors with Adolescent Externalizing Problems.

      The current study focused on longitudinal effects of genetics and parental behaviors and their interplay on externalizing behaviors in a panel study following individuals from adolescence to young adulthood. The nationally representative sample of Add Health participants of European ancestry included N = 4142 individuals, measured on three occasions. Parenting was operationalized as experiences with child maltreatment and maternal closeness. Externalizing problems were operationalized as alcohol use, cannabis use, and antisocial behaviors. Genetic effects were operationalized as a polygenic score (PGS) of risky behaviors. The results showed significant effects for child maltreatment, maternal closeness, and PGS, above and beyond other factors and previous levels of externalizing behaviors. Furthermore, maternal closeness was found to negatively correlate with PGS. No significant interaction effects of parenting and PGS were found. The results underscore the joint independent effects of parenting and genetics on the change in externalizing behaviors from adolescence to young adulthood.

      The effects of the Good Behavior Game on first grade students' behaviors.

      The positive reinforcement contingencies, particularly the Good Behavior Game, have been used by teachers to improve behaviors among students within the classroom. Prior research suggests that the Good Behavior Game saves educators time in constantly administering consequences to students, and promotes both positive social behaviors and academic performance among students involved simultaneously (Tankersley, 1995). This quantitative study investigated the effectiveness of the positive reinforcement contingency, the Good Behavior Game on increasing on-task behavior and decreasing disruptive behaviors among a group of five first grade students (three girls and two boys) enrolled in an Academic Intervention Services (AIS) classroom. The researcher collected data through an ABA design, which spanned over a cumulative period of four weeks. Findings demonstrated a direct correlation between the implementation of the Good Behavior Game and on-task behaviors, as well as a significant decrease in disruptive behaviors among each of the five first grade students involved in the study.

      Reactions to behaviors: the role of education on people’s perceptions of body-focused repetitive behaviors

      Reactions to body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) (trichotillomania, excoriation disorder, onychophagia, and trichophagia) were measured by evaluating people's reactions on a Likert scale. A total of 221 participants completed the survey. It was predicted that educating people about those conditions would produce more positive ratings. However there was no difference between the experimental and control group that received no information. It was found that trichophagia was viewed most negatively followed by trichotillomania, excoriation disorder, and then onychophagia which was viewed most positively. These findings suggest that information presented in a quick and limited format did not impact the views of participants. However, it is seen that attention needs to be directed toward promoting a greater understanding of these disorders in order to minimize the negative perceptions of people with these conditions.
