This case study explores the overall benefits of arts education through online research and an observational study of the Teen Empowerment Mural Apprenticeship after-school program at Groundswell Community Mural Project. Groundswell's history and achievements over the past twenty years are also accounted for and explored. Through interviews with the organization's directors and managers, I hope to uncover Groundswell's successes and hardships and where it is heading as a non-profit. Furthermore, through descriptive personal accounts and interviews with studio programs alumnus, youth artists, teaching artists, and others, I hope to discuss how Groundswell utilizes its resources to provide a rich and nourishing environment for youth to develop lifelong skills that go beyond the artistic growth one experiences at Groundswell.Accessibility Statement
