dc.description.abstractA deep dive into how satire can effect theater, this essay compiles artistic aims, satirical research, and a final technical essay. This essay argues that through the usage of satire, Christopher Durang's The Actor's Nightmare is a drama masked by comedy. Research for this topic includes historical accounts of satire, different satirists techniques, and Durang's previous work with satire.
