dc.description.abstract | My senior project discusses what Afrofuturism is and how it appears in media today. I discuss creators such as Sun Ra and N. K. Jemisin and use their work in order to give a greater understanding of how black people appear in science fiction literature. I had a connection to this topic because I am a writer of science fiction and I am black. I had questions about the history of black science fiction creators and I went on a journey to discover it. | |
