This senior project in Theatre & Performance consisted of writing the full-length play, A Daughter of Demerara, which explored the issues of domestic violence, immigration and sexual assault among other issues in an Indo-Caribbean family. Research on how Indo-Caribbean theatre could be an effective means of social change was also conducted. The final reflection paper documents the process of writing and putting up a staged reading of the play as well as the impact theatre has on social issues.
