Laterality is the localization of function or activity on one side of the body in preference to the other. There is a lateral preference for much of human activities and most dentists agree that there is also a preferred chewing side. Unilateral chewing has a potentially harmful effects. This study analyzed whether or not such preferences correspond with individual's dominant side of the body. Data from one hundred adult individuals suggests a correlation between mouth laterality and brain laterality.Accessibility Statement
