Abstract
Adrianna Ponce experiences many transitions, from Mexican to an undocumented resident to full-fledged American, and male to female. However, in the wake of political turmoil, Ponce's American Dream faces legal and health care coverage issues which halt her transition. As the Trump administration proposes radical changes to the U.S. immigration system and the Affordable Care Act, what obstacles does a transgender woman encounter as changes in Washington challenge her existence in American society?
