This thesis explores the portrayal of lesbian sexuality onstage, in Diana Son's Stop Kiss. What are our responsibilities as theatre artists when depicting queer bodies onstage? Considering traditions of lesbian theatre, as well as the existence of a mainstream audience, this thesis examines how Son protected her protagonists from sexuality-based objectification. Stop Kiss: The Kissing Crisis engages with the theoretical and practical approaches to the representation of lesbian love in Stop Kiss.Accessibility Statement
