This research contributes valuable insights into the multifaceted impact video game dependency has had on the mental health affecting young adults globally. The findings have underscored and highlighted the importance of recognizing internet gaming addiction disorder as a concern. This study advocates for proactive measures to address the consequences outlined from long term video game usage that in turn has negative impacts to wellbeing of young adults. This emphasizes the further necessity that is to conduct longitudinal research studies and experimental trials to understand the long term effects video game dependency, virtual metaverse escapism, and lack of funding to sciences has on individuals.Accessibility Statement
