Bitcoin is a digital currency that was developed by a group of programmers by the name of Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009. The value of Bitcoin comes from the user’s belief and trust in the system. Bitcoin provides benefits like lower costs, third-parties not required to process transactions, secure information and faster transactions. Since Bitcoin is not issued by a central banking system and is not baked by physical money the government is attempting to fiat Bitcoin. Bitcoin has had a major impact on the people and the economy globally. I propose to conduct a literature review on the topic explaining what Bitcoin is and the impact that Bitcoin has had on the society and economy.Accessibility Statement
