My Capstone was written based on the fact that the original use of certain articles of clothing devalued due to its popularization. My research question is:  What is the role appropriation plays on the depreciation of an article of clothing’s cultural significance? I came to this question through personal experiences regarding some of the clothes I wear. To my surprise, I found that the majority of people are unaware of the fact that they may be appropriating. Because of this previous statement, I revolved my personal thoughts around individuals being unaware of their appropriation.
