dc.description.abstract | What are you waiting for? This is the question I am asking the reader when they are reading my play. Waiting for Antonio is play based off of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot. The play takes place on a bench in Washington Square Park, where two college students, Valerie and Eddie wait for their pot dealer to arrive. While they are waiting they come across some of Washington Square Park's everyday inhabitants. The two students deal with the same themes Vladimir and Estragon confronted in Beckett's play like: mortality, suffering, time, life and existence. | |
