This paper aims to explore the question: to what extent are music event services aiding niche markets of the music industry to achieve their goal of fostering community? The following research will discuss the role of technology, specifically music event services, in aiding local music communities and how much of their interaction actually helps or hurts these communities. The research will also analyze the need for community building in the 21st century as a result of a changing music industry relying on new norms of digital tools in order to service audience communication.Collections
