dc.description.abstract | NYCHA is the New York Public Housing Authority where well over 400,000 residents reside in. Many have experienced decrepit conditions that have remained with out repair. Over the course of 8 months, I interviewed various NYCHA residents, organizers and allies about the struggles residents face within the NYCHA system. With talks of a new plan that promises privatization of NYCHA, many residents fear demolition and displacement from their homes. | |
