dc.description.abstract | I came to the realization that awareness is the essential skill necessary for both, photography and being an athlete, and a subject that needs further exploration. Playing sports as a goalkeeper on the field and a point guard on the court I realized that being a sports photographer is similar to playing sports in many ways. Awareness is a kind of consciousness and knowledge. For athlete and photographer, knowledge of the situation at hand and performing in response to that knowledge is critical. I have been able to use the medium of photography to deeply explore awareness in my own experiences as an athlete and while documenting others passionate about sports like myself. | |
