Chris O'Connor, through the engine of abstraction, processes his personal experience living with a brother who is a person with autism. Color and shape are signifiers of an emotional contemplation over the subject. Art historical references and animals personify a dual experience of fear and ferocity. The result is a body of work that offers the viewer senses of texture, materiality, color and other formal elements shaped by an emotional process.Collections
