I have developed a practice that allows me to generate content and move past fears that have prevented me from making things altogether. By choosing forms such the panorama and book, I have eliminated questions of structure. Leaning on graphite as a medium of utility, I embraced an iterative process of drawing and research. In an inconclusive narrative, my characters live within the same square miles on the interstate. As a storm rolls through they are depicted as lost within an isolated state of mind, contrasted with the panorama they reside within. Playing off the themes present in Western films and road trips, I was able to create landscapes that represented those mental spaces. In collecting fragments of narrative in an unreliable sequence, I have been able to suspend the fear that kept me from making work.Accessibility Statement
