For my senior project, I have elected to apply the skills I have developed and honed in digital art and design, and combine them with personal influences spanning from childhood into my Purchase College career, in order to fully develop a full length video game. As an artist, my interests have always been in depicting high fantasy, abstract, or otherwise fictional characters, environments, and creatures in my work; my drive to begin creating art at a young age was influenced highly by my desire to create my own original video game characters. With this project, I come full circle and finally realize the childhood dream to create my own video game with completely unique and original characters and story. Creating a game allows me not only to create my own visual assets to my personal exact desire, but also lets me express my emotions and outlook on the surrounding world. By creating an (entertaining) game as opposed to a poster or video, It is much easier to immerse the player in my fabricated environment, and convey proper tones, emotions and energy through visual, audio, and tactile feedback. By fabricating my own world and characters, I am allowed to tell a story about my own emotions and experiences through metaphors, in a way that is engaging, fun, and impactful for whoever plays it.Collections
