Perception has long been an issue for people of color. From mistreatment by police, to misrepresentation in the media and society at large. In this essay, I discuss the role my art plays in attempting to tackle this issue -- using it as a tool to represent these people and myself, the way I see fit, while critiquing society in the process. I reflect on my own experiences as a Puerto Rican, and how they have shaped my artistic expression.Collections
