My work straddles the line between reality and fantasy. Natural Selection, Allen’s rule and Bergmann’s rule is the reason humans and wildlife have been able to change to be best equipped to survive in our ecosystem. I combine these scientific rules and bring them to the surrealistic side of nature. The creatures I make draw from our world in that they are made up of multiple different animal parts. Scientific research such as field guides dictates the scale and appearance of these creatures. The fantasy aspect of my creatures allows me to break the  laws of nature. This way of combining animal parts allows my creatures to become a part of our reality while still living on their own.
