My abstract animation is product of an exploration of many themes: the concept of softness, fluidity and transformation, dreams, melancholy and the afterlife. I set these themes to my painterly and digital styles to create an animated short film. The film is inspired by contemporary artists and animators such as Lora Mathis, Susan Pitt, Jennifer Reeves, and Amy Sillman. Allan Kaprow's essay, The Legacy of Jackson Pollock (1958) and Nam June Paik's Zen for Film (1965) also inspired the piece. Along with the animated film, comes the installation for viewing. I include a proposal for my installation for help visualize the project as a whole. The animation is a visual metaphor for a girl experiencing a lost of a friend.Accessibility Statement
