This thesis focuses on my efforts to deterritorialize the visual language of minor forms of painting, while exploring themes of regionalism within upstate New York and cultural constructs of gender and labor. My artwork is filtered through a lens of personal experiences and observations, which I reflect upon through my studio practice.
