OCD is among the most common psychiatric disorders and is absolutely debilitating for many individuals. For some patients OCD can be a serious roadblock that keeps them from experiencing the same quality of life as someone without the disorder. However, OCD is a condition that’s largely misunderstood by a lot of people. It’s surrounded by stereotypes and misinformation due in part to a history of being falsely invoked in ways which frame its visible symptoms through a lens of frivolity or quirkiness. For this reason, the aim of my senior project was to create an easily accessible educational resource about OCD, with the goal of helping those without the disorder to better understand it, and providing direction for people who are looking into the disorder because they think it might personally affect themselves or a loved one.Collections
