This paper aims to discuss how immersive art can be incorporated into the current museum climate using new museology, specifically operational museology, to boost attendance and therefore donorship to save cultural institutions that are facing this downward trend in public interest in the arts. The paper will talk about various instances of immersive art from all around the world and the programming that went into them, the protocols needed to maintain it and the overall goal that each institution set out to achieve. It will then go on to talk about the ways each installation or performance relates back to new museology, the ways in which other museums can recreate the same outcomes in their spaces, and in some cases how museums will have to reorganize their staff to make accommodations for these pieces.Accessibility Statement
