Abstract The objective of the following research paper was to gather as much research as possible to analyze how society and the government take care of children with special needs. Throughout the paper, life before, during, and after school is discussed as well as differences in diagnoses among different races. The method used to write this paper was the grounded theory. While using this method, I attempted to find articles that fell into my desired categories and also ones that overlapped. My key findings were; including a child with special needs in a classroom with highly functioning kids will improve their production, the chances of a white child being diagnosed with autism is higher than any other ethnicity, and the importance of giving a child a chance in the classroom to succeed. My whole discussion section revolved around my research question which was examining how society treats and takes care of special needs children. A possible recommendation could be about establishing a law that could guarantee screening at an early age for all children regardless of their social class.Accessibility Statement
