The purpose of my paper is to explore the resurgence of the “vinyl trade” over the last decade. In 2019, the Recording Institute Association of America reported vinyl album sales grew 13% to $224 million for the first half of the year. This promising trend for a “historic” recording format is fueled by interest from a younger generation of music listeners. My research for this report brings together my personal experience working at a small label devoted to vinyl recordings as well as research into the recording industry, the psychographics? of Millennial and Generation Z buyers and current marketing strategies benefiting vinyl producers, labels and distributors. My intended audience is businesses and entrepreneurs looking to reach new generations of vinyl buyers, and anyone interested in the vinyl trade.Accessibility Statement
