Trap Neuter and Release(TNR) is one of the most humane ways to control and reduce the overpopulation of stray and feral cats. It is a method that is preferred by animal rights activist because it does not euthanize and gives the cats a chance to live a longer, healthier and stress-free life. However, the continual abandonment by neglectful pet owners is detrimental to the initiative of TNR and its wish of reducing the cat colonies. The goal was to explore both the advantages and disadvantages that TNR has. Additionally, a documentary was done with the focus on the people of Rockland County, NY, who devote time out of their lives to love and care for the colonies of stray cats in their own neighborhoods.
