My project explores my multicultural background and what it means to be American. This project uses mambabatok, a traditional tattooing style, and kamayan, a dining etiquette, as symbols of my Filipino culture. This project visualizes coexistence between all of my cultures, while also trying to understand and question why some aspects of culture are accepted and others repressed.
