Abstract

This paper includes artistic aims, a research essay, and a technical essay. The artistic aims addresses my goals as an artist and the inspiration for the creation of the one act production, BMI. The research essay explores the dance world in relation to plus-sized dancers. This essay looks into the negative and positive responses in the dance world in regards to beauty standards. The technical essay is a post BMI wrap up of the process including the process of putting up the show and what happened afterward.
