My first idea for a senior project was to look at future implementations of Virtual Reality. As I read about Virtual Reality and the place it currently holds in augmented physical therapy, as well as a simulator for doctors and residents to learn extensive procedures that they would otherwise not come across, often due to the severity of the circumstances that lead to said procedures, I realized that its not what I thought it would be. With all the research I did for virtual reality and making 3D games, I thought about someone in our senior seminar class who's project proposal was to see if they could transform a novel into a video game. I thought this was a great middle ground between challenging myself to create a 3D environment while also setting a somewhat more realistic goal to work towards. I decided to base this game on one of my favorite novels, The Hound of The Baskervilles by Conan Doyle. The goal was to see how much progress I could make developing this game from scratch while also learning some of the software functionality used in game development. However, I understood that trying to fully complete a game on my own can be a huge task for one person and that under a limited scope of several months wouldn't be enough time to complete it. My current proposal for my senior project is to make a 3D game using a free game engine, Unity, and a 3D modeling software tool, Blender, to recreate one of my favorite stories, Conan Doyle's The Hound of The Baskervilles.Collections
