This senior project in Theatre & Performance consists of a play about Black women navigating through life in a satirical fairy tale. The aim is to push for more comedies written by Black women and girls for Black women and girls, granting them the ability to truly see themselves represented in a non-characteristic way. The work is supported by the research of Black comediennes who have been able to rewrite and twist harmful stereotypes about Black women, like Jackie "Moms" Mabley.Accessibility Statement
