Whether or not student-athletes should be compensated for their college sports involvement has been a widely contestable debate. Various parties tend to have different opinions on the matter; some favor paying the athletes, while others describe arguments against these athletes. The controversy comes because college athletics are concerned about winning and making profits for the institutions (Gurdus, 2000). These colleges generate a great sum of profit from television contracts and ticket selling. Besides creating profits for the schools, the student-athletes are involved in increasing schools' popularity, which results in enhanced schools' reputation and increased enrollments. Even after offering all the glory to these institutions, student-athletes do not gain any monetary compensation.
